Question to Movex

from jackie S in WI - Tuesday, September 08, 2009
We are combining two households: One in Middleton, WI and one in Elm Grove, WI and relocating to the Tampa area. Would your truck be able to stop at both places for us to load? Thank you!

Movex Response

Jackie,

Yes, you can. We charge a $95 fee for the extra stop with the truck if it is nearby. Longer distances have a small mileage charge added too. Call your rep for more details.

Question to Movex

from lisa J in IL - Thursday, June 11, 2009
I will be moving to Savanna, IL. Some of my belongings will need to be unloaded at my new residence but the remainder will need to be unloaded at a storage unit in town. Will the driver drive a short distance (5 miles) from one location to the other for me to unload?

Movex Response

Lisa,

YES! Movex is the only self-service mover in the country that will allow for second pickups and second stops. The charge for this is $95. If the distance is more than 10 miles, the charge is a little higher.

Question to Movex

from Tania E in CA - Monday, March 09, 2009
We are going to be moving from San Diego, CA to Indianapolis, IN. Our house is located at 92102 which holds the majority of our things, then we have more things stored in my in laws garage located at 92019 which is a little over 17 miles away. I know you offer a second stop for $95 if it's within 15 miles, but since this is 17 miles away would we still be able to pay $95 for the second stop?

Movex Response

Tania,

We are not going to split hairs with you on that. Just let your relocation specialist know so that they can notate your file for Operations.

Question to Movex

from Laura S in IL - Friday, March 06, 2009
I am going to be moving from Illinois to California and have a question. Some of my belongings need to be unloaded at the house I'm going to be staying at in CA, and then the rest needs to be unloaded in a storage unit just down the street from the house. Can you do this and if so how much does it cost? Is it something I can ask the driver about since the storage unit is less than a mile away?

Movex Response

Laura,

Movex charges $95 for each additional stop. The stop needs to be within 15 miles of your destination (or pickup). We are the only self-service mover that can accommodate this request!

Question to Movex

from Rob C in WA - Thursday, January 15, 2009
We have a 1 bed room apartment in storage in Brooklyn, NY and a pod of boxes/etc in storage just outside Washington, DC. We need to get both to Seattle, WA. What's the most efficient (and least costly) way to make that happen? Thanks, Rob

Movex Response

Rob,

Your best bet would be to take everything to the storage outside of DC and meet the moving truck there to load all of it. Doing two pickups that far apart and one of them being in Brooklyn will blow your price out of the water.

Question to Movex

from Jackie B in MI - Sunday, September 14, 2008
I have a move scheduled with your service in a few days and I was wondering, if I have a couple of pieces of furniture stored at my parents house approx 1 mile away, will my driver(s) follow me over to their home so I can load those few pieces of furniture along with my shipment?

Movex Response

Jackie,

Yes, there is a $95 charge for extra pickups, so you might want to bring the stuff over to your house if you can. If you need us to do the pickup, please contact your relocation specialist to make arrangements for that. They will need the address, etc.

Question to Movex

from Kristin O in CA - Tuesday, August 19, 2008
Hello, We are moving from Ojai, Ca. to Hood River Oregon. We have an office space 2 miles from our home in Ojai. We need to move the office on the same truck. Also when arriving in Hood River, we won't need all of our belongings right away and will pack accordingly. We will have a storage unit 4 miles from home in Hood River and a new office space for my husbands business 2 miles from the home. How do I budget for extra stops for loading in Ojai and unloading in Hood River? Thank you for your help, Kristin

Movex Response

Kristin,

We charge $95 for each additional stop. The stops need to be in the same town and no farther than 10 miles away. So, you should be good to go with the parameters set above.

Question to Movex

from Nisha H in UT - Thursday, July 24, 2008
When I finish loading the truck and am ready to leave for my destination, does the driver follow me or do they arrive seperately? Do they make other stops along the way or do they go straight to my destination?

Movex Response

Nisha,

The truck will arrive separately. A lot of the drivers prefer to drive at night when traffic is down. If you have ordered the entire moving truck for your use exclusively (financially, your best deal), it will not make other stops. If you are only taking part of the truck, it will make other pickups and/or deliveries with your goods on board. Remember though, the driver stays with the moving van during these stops and your furniture is in a private compartment so you don't have to worry about security.

I am moving from NJ to Arizona. I have a storage site and my home. Can the truck go to more than 1 place for pickups?

Deborah,

Absolutely! Part of the benefit of using Movex is that we are the only self-service mover that can make extra pickups and deliveries. All others require you to bring your goods to one location.
