Question to Movex

from C S in VA - Monday, July 19, 2010
You mention that I can include my car on the trailer, along with my household items. I am interested in this because I am not able to drive the car myself. I am moving the contents of my 3-bedroom house, and would like to include my 2004 Buick LeSabre vehicle on the trailer. Is this possible, and how much would it be?

Movex Response

Not only is it possible, but that is what we do daily! The quickest way to get a quote would be to call us at 800-876-6839. One of the relocation specialists that answers the phone will be able to quickly get you a quote, but they will need some info to do that.

Question to Movex

from Angie R in SC - Sunday, July 18, 2010
Do you move vehicles at all? If you do what do you charge. If you don't do you have someone you would recommend to do so?

Movex Response

Angie,

Yes, we move vehicles. They go on the same moving trucks with your furniture. So everything arrives at the same time! The charge depends on how far we will be shipping your car. Please give us a call and a move counselor can quickly give you a phone quote.

Question to Movex

from PAUL T in FL - Sunday, May 30, 2010
Can I use all the space around a vehicle (car) for packing boxes, mattresses, etc. as well as putting things in the car?

Movex Response

Paul,

Yes, you can. You do not want to have anything actually leaning against the car because the motion of the moving van will cause rubbing that could ruin your paint job.

Question to Movex

from Andy T in CA - Monday, May 03, 2010
Hello, I would like Movex to ship my car from Los Angeles, CA to St Louis, MO. What is the fee? Also I want to include suitcases and other things in the trunk. Is there additional fee for that?

Movex Response

Andy,

We would need to give you a rate for 16ft of space on the truck. You may want to check with a company that ships nothing but cars. They will be less expensive as we are fully-equipped for household goods, which is a more costly thing to ship.

Question to Movex

from Celeste H in IL - Wednesday, April 28, 2010
Do you provide ramps for the vehicle to be loaded on the truck? I was confused when reading questions, that we had to supply a wrecker.

Movex Response

Celeste,

Yes, each truck does come equipped with loading ramps. However, the ramps are steep and have weight limits. Only smaller cars with good ground clearance can be loaded using the ramps. That is why we recommend you loading your car with a wrecker. It is easier, safer, and the cost for the wrecker is usually under $50.

Question to Movex

from Travis D in NJ - Tuesday, April 13, 2010
I have two cars I would like to ship to California and maybe 6-10 boxes. Would I be able to fit this in one truck?

Movex Response

Travis,

Absolutely. In fact, it would not even take an entire truck. Ask your rep for pricing for 36ft of truck space on a moving van. That should hold everything you mention above.

Question to Movex

from Roy H in NC - Sunday, February 14, 2010
I see you can move a car on the same truck as household goods. Is a loading dock required to get the vehicle in/out of the trailer and do you have divider panels that separate the auto from other items?

Movex Response

Roy,

A loading dock is not required, but a wrecker is recommended. A wrecker can easily load your car into the back of the moving van. It is the safest way to move your car, and yes, there are divider walls inside the trucks.
