Moving Questions - Shipment Size
Question to Movexfrom H F in FL - Wednesday, July 07, 2010 |
Movex Response6ft of truck space is the smallest size that we have available. |
Question to Movexfrom shirley M in CA - Friday, June 25, 2010 |
Movex ResponseTHAT is a great question. Movex does not charge by the weight. We charge by the length of space that you take on the truck (all trucks are 8ft wide x 9ft high - the variable that you are charged on is the length). That being said, you can only ship household goods. If you are shipping your brick collection, Movex is not the option for you! |
Question to Movexfrom Missy V in MD - Wednesday, June 16, 2010 |
Movex ResponseMissy, We can give you a space on the moving van as small as 6x8x8. That should be economical for a move of your size. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom Olivia A in FL - Wednesday, June 16, 2010 |
Movex ResponseOlivia, For quoting purposes, we deal with approximate sizes. Most customers want to get a "ballpark" figure right away and that is why our quote form is so "general". If you want an exact price for the exact amount of space that you choose, please call 800-876-6839 and one of our representatives will solidify that for you. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom Paul C in KY - Sunday, June 13, 2010 |
Movex ResponseEach linear foot of space on the moving truck is 72cubic feet. So your 8ft of length shipment will have 576 cubic feet available. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom tony T in TX - Thursday, May 20, 2010 |
Movex ResponseMovex provides service on trucks that are 8' wide and 9' high. This is significantly larger than a rental truck. Our suggestion would be approximately 10 to 12 feet to have the equivalent volume of space. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom Nelius H in CA - Thursday, May 20, 2010 |
Movex ResponseOur minimum shipment is 6ft of truck space. My recommendation would be to ship all of your boxes via ups. If you don't have any furniture, that will be your cheapest option. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom Elisabeth C in VA - Friday, May 07, 2010 |
Movex ResponseElisabeth, If the space is available, you can buy it on moving day for the same rate per foot that you bought you other space. The one caveat is that the space might not be available, so order yourself a couple of extra feet just in case. It won't be that much money and will give you peace of mind. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom Joseph R in WI - Friday, May 07, 2010 |
Movex ResponseJoseph, Your best bet for determining size of shipment is to stage an area that would be equal to how much space you are loading on the truck and see if everything that you are shipping is going to reasonably fit. We alway suggest ordering a little extra space just to be safe. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom Debbie T in CT - Tuesday, April 13, 2010 |
Movex ResponseDebbie, I would call 800-876-6839 and ask them to give you a price for a full 48' moving van. That will be your best price point and should fit everything that you have listed here. Movex |
