Moving Questions - Shipment Size
Question to Movexfrom Charis H in NC - Thursday, June 23, 2011 |
Movex ResponseCharis, We can legally allow up to 30,000# on an entire tractor-trailer. If you are loading household goods, it is virtually impossible to get that much weight onto a moving van. If you have any concerns about weight because you have things other than household goods to load, please call our relocation staff at 800-876-6839 and they will clarify for you. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom Joanne R in MN - Friday, June 10, 2011 |
Movex ResponseJoanne, You are correct in that if you go over on your space, we have a set price per foot that you are charged for the extra space. There are no "gotcha" charges. The only caveat is that extra space is not always available. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom cynthia J in IL - Sunday, May 22, 2011 |
Movex ResponseWe could actually give you a small amount of space on a large truck going the same way. Please call our service center at 800-876-6839 for more information. |
Question to Movexfrom Laura N in MT - Wednesday, February 16, 2011 |
Movex ResponseWe are very competitively priced because we order the space and plan for the entire truck in advance. Therefore, we cannot resell any leftover space to another customer. So we cannot refund unused space. |
Question to Movexfrom Fred K in CA - Monday, January 31, 2011 |
Movex ResponseFred, We generally handle larger orders and would not be cost effective for your one piece shipment. I would suggest UPS. They have a ground freight division that will give you a better option for shipping that snow blower. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom Yvette O in HI - Monday, January 31, 2011 |
Movex ResponseYvette, We actually ship your goods in moving vans, not boxes. It is a much safer way to move and actually less costly than "container moving". If you call our relocation specialists at 800-876-6839, they can help you with suggestions on how to determine the space to order for your move. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom Coleen H in FL - Tuesday, October 26, 2010 |
Movex ResponseColeen, Yes and no. If the space is available (hasn't been committed to anyone else on the truck), yes, you can buy more space on loading day. You need to take into consideration that you may be the last customer on the truck and the truck will only show up with the space that you ordered. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom karin G in NV - Sunday, October 03, 2010 |
Movex ResponseSomething does not jive with that quote. 1600 cubic feet should weigh no more than 10,000#. 1600 cubic feet of goods might fit into the largest uhaul, but probably won't. I would recommed 36ft of space on a Movex van at the very least. |
Question to Movexfrom john H in FL - Sunday, October 03, 2010 |
Movex ResponsePlease call our service center at 800-976-6839 and relay this information to them. They will get you the best pricing available for this type of move. Movex |
Question to Movexfrom Susan P in CA - Tuesday, September 28, 2010 |
Movex ResponseSusan, It would be best to call our customer service center at 800-876-6839. We answer that phone with live humans, not machines! They can work with you to help you determing how much space you will need. Movex |
