Do your moving trucks come with a side door opening? It would be easier for us to be able to have a ramp from the side of the truck to our front door? If not, how high off the ground is back load height? Thanks!

Some of the moving trucks have side doors, some do not. We can request one when you make your moving reservation. The loading height of all of the moving vans is between 42" and 48". With Movex, we provide nice long loading ramps and a dolly for you so that you can easily roll even the heaviest items into the back of the moving truck.

Military Move. I would like to place my motorcycle on a trailer and then put the trailer IN the back of the moving van. Do you have any restrictions on this. The trailor is small enough to fit inside the moving van.

The only thing that you need to keep in mind is that the inside dimensions on the moving truck are 8.5ft wide by 9ft tall. If your trailer will fit inside those dimensions, you are more than welcome to put it on the moving truck.

I have many boxes packed & wish to move some now, though I am not yet ready to follow them to Denver.
What kind of "partial" small moves might be done through you.

The minumum shipment size for a Movex relocation is 6ft of truck space. If you are moving just boxes, it is going to be cheaper to ship them via UPS. Once you put together a load that will take 6' of space on a truck or more, Movex can't be beat.

Can you tell me the dimensions and capacities
of a five ton and a ten ton furniture van?

David,

95% of the moving trucks that Movex provides are 53' long, 8.5ft wide, and 9ft high (inside dimensions). We do have a couple of smaller or "odd size" moving trucks running around out there, but the norm is listed above. All rates are calculated based on the dimensions that I have listed for the 53 footers.

need to move from TX to MI in Dec live in apt complex can truck arrive morning of 14th and leave early same day to avoid blocking tennants for long period of time?

An excellent reason to use Movex for this type of move is because the driver stays with the moving truck and will leave when you are finished loading.

Make sure that you have plenty of space for the moving van to park as they are full-sized (53ft) and hard to maneuver in an apartment complex. Check with your manager and make sure that there is, in fact, a place to park safely.

Movex has access to several different moving truck sizes. However, the vast majority of the moving trucks that are used are the large, full-size, tractor-trailer moving vans. We utilize these larger moving trucks because we can fit more orders onto one vehicle, maximizing your savings because multiple shippers are sharing the cost of transport.

what is the typical weight of a 12 foot truck rented from a Penske, Budget or Uhaul? Greg

You will need to check with your Penske, Budget, and Uhaul dealers. We only have information about the moving trucks that we use. On average, the empty weight of the moving vans that we utilize is somewhere around 14,000#.

Hello, we are currently living in an apartment in Boston, MA and planning a move to an apartment in San Francisco, CA. Both cities are very urban and don't offer much in the way of street parking for a 28' trailor. We will not have a private driveway at either residence. What sorts of options do we have when using a freight company?

Movex is bonded with the city of Boston and has a parking permit to park anywhere that we can get a moving truck. San Jose does not give us the opportunity to do that, so you may have to shuttle the shipment from our truck to your new apartment. We will bring the moving van to the closest safe parking place where you would have to meet us and unload.

Please remember that we would bring a 53' moving van, not a 28' freight truck. You do not want to put your valuable furniture on a 28' pup trailer.

This move is actually for my mother-in-law. She needs to move from Schaller, IA to Federal Way, WA. She does not have much to move (only furniture is a reclining chair). Do you offer service to these areas? Also, can I have an idea of what the cost would be on your smallest truck?
