Read More Questions from Steve G. in CA - July 3, 2008 I am leaving the military and having my household goods and compact car shipped from CA to NY. I am looking to do a self move becuase I hear that I can recive more money in compensation than if I allow the Navy to ship everything for me. How does MoveX handle military moves, that are based on wieght and not volume, in order to maximize my move allowance? Steve,
You have come to the right place. Even though we charge based on the space you use on the moving truck, Movex will provide you with weight tickets so that you can get reimbursed by the Navy. The difference between what the Navy will pay you and what you pay Movex is the money that YOU GET TO KEEP! Military members are making money every week by using our service (and actually saving the government money at the same time). It is a true win-win situation.
Make sure that you tell your relocation specialist that you are a military move. They will set up your shipment to have weight tickets and you get an additional 10K of insurance at no charge.
Movex Read More Questions from Tomas B. in FL - July 1, 2008 I am moving a 3bdr house, and was planning to include my small Audi TT Roadster at the same time. What kind of clearance do you need to drive up the ramp? You refer to loading cars with a wrecker, is that a car towing company with a forklift? Tomas,
You would definitely need a wrecker to load your small Audi. The type of wrecker is called a "rollback". It is basically the kind of wrecker where the flatbed platform on the back part of the truck "rolls back" off of the rear of the truck and lowers to the ground so that a low-profile car can drive onto it. Then the platform rolls back onto the truck and is levelled with the moving van so that it can be driven right inside. It is not nearly as complicated as my description sounds and we do this every day, so no worries.
Movex Read More Questions from kathleen H. in CA - July 1, 2008 Do you every just provide the service of unloading the truck? I have plenty of help loading the truck at the location I am leaving-but no one to help me at my new location...thank you Kathleen,
Movex is a self-service mover and does not provide loading or unloading services. However, if you click on the loading link at the top of our website, you will be directed to a company that can help you with those services.
Movex Read More Questions from tracy P. in OH - June 30, 2008 I saw an advertisement for Movex which stated "save 50%". I'm wondering what that means? Tracy,
Because you are doing the loading and unloading when using Movex service, you can save as much as 50% when comparing our pricing to a traditional full-service mover.
Movex Read More Questions from tracy P. in OH - June 30, 2008 what is a smart box? Tracy,
The Movex Smartbox service is very similar to PODS. We bring a container (smartbox) to your home, you load it, we transport it to destination where you unload it. Some customers need extended storage when moving and we are able to accommodate that with the Smartbox service.
Regular Movex service is more of a direct shipping method that cannot be used when extended storage is needed.
